I am holding on the purchase of an ebay record from a great seller. I finally got a copy of the 4xlp of the K&D Sessions.
Wax four is the correct piece.. sides G / H. But the label has it as Disc 3, E / F.
How does this effect value? Up or down? Is this a lame mistake, or is this something that is recorded and recognized. Have other people run into it? Should it put me off buying the record as a collector? As a DJ... if it has the playable tracks, it has the playable tracks. Just would like others' opinion.
And.. Hi. I am new.
What about records that have misprinted 33rpm and 45 rpm labels... where it says one and plays the other? I have the Bobby Hughes remix of Get Carter, and it says 45 when it is really 33. That happens all the time, I assume... and was wondering if it means anything at all for the price of the record.
And is there a rare CD database?

Re: K&D Sessions mislabel on disc four... anyone know how it effects value?
Mon, October 23, 2006 - 6:32 AMWow--- This tribe hasn't seen much action in a while. Welcome aboard. Maybe some folks will start a chattin' now.
I've never been sure on how to value misprints on labels/jackets. Generally the misprints are only of value if there was a recall that occurred quickly after release... Making the original errant copy harder to find. (Such misprints, if undocumented anywhere, can also be sign that the copy is a boot...)
(Honestly, it hurts my head to look up the differences in price guides, and in the end, it only matters to collectors who want the extra little piece of history.) -

Thanks for the info.. I will try to post arcane questions to see if anyone is lurking about...
and I enjoy the mornings when no one is in the office, and I can tribe.

Re: K&D Sessions mislabel on disc four... anyone know how it effects value?
Fri, March 30, 2007 - 11:53 PMyeah as long as the music on there is the same as what it supposed to be, it shouldnt affect the value, unless you got some other stuff on that record like other songs that werent released, as a collector i wouldnt care what it says on the record as long as the music on there is good, white labels are on that level, so i wouldnt even trip, most of time whitelabel has a blank label anyways, but not too sure if white label is worth more, i would think it would since its a promo -

Wed, April 4, 2007 - 9:06 AMTHANKS!!! Someone come up with an engaging topic to wake up the class...
<prods neighbbor>
WAAAAKE UP ALL!!!!

Not white, just a misprint. I was sorta thinking the normal record misprinted would make it worth more.... but realize that is silly.
